The Art of Teaching
led by Michelle Ramseth
People don’t remember every cue you gave. They remember how they felt in your presence.
Seeing. Being Seen. Creating Connection.
Teaching is more than delivering cues—it’s about creating an experience where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.
In this 30-hour course, we’ll explore the art and psychology of impactful teaching through the lenses of leadership, human behavior, and yoga.
You’ll develop the skills to communicate with greater clarity, cultivate authentic presence, build trust, and create meaningful connection with your students—not by becoming a different kind of teacher, but by becoming more intentional about how you see, listen, respond, and lead.
Together we’ll explore how students learn, what helps people feel safe enough to explore and grow, and how your presence, language, attention, and choices shape the experience of a class.
Through practical teaching tools, observation, discussion, experiential learning, video submissions, and reflection, you’ll refine not only what you teach, but who you are while teaching.
Topics include:
- Seeing and Being Seen
- Presence and Authentic Leadership
- Building Trust and Psychological Safety

Required Reading
The Courage to Teach by Parker J. Palmer
Palmer’s exploration of the inner life of a teacher will provide a foundation for our inquiry into presence, authenticity, connection, and leadership. Rather than focusing only on teaching techniques, we’ll consider the relationship between who we are, how we teach, and the experiences we create for our students.
This course is designed to move beyond learning more teaching techniques and into the deeper practice of becoming a teacher who can see clearly, respond authentically, and create connection in real time.
